All ACT Belgravia Leisure aquatic venues rated among safest in Australia
Five Belgravia Leisure aquatic venues across the ACT have earned top honours in the prestigious Royal Life Saving Society’s annual Aquatic Facility Safety Assessment.
The venues—including, Canberra Olympic Pool, Dickson Pool, Gungahlin Leisure Centre, Stromlo Leisure Centre and Lakeside Leisure Centre—have all received a 5-star safety rating, reinforcing their status as some of the safest aquatic facilities in Australia.
Scott Vanderheyden, Acting Group Health & Safety Manager, said, “At Belgravia Leisure, we are committed to prioritising the safety and well-being of all staff, members and guests, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone. The 5-star rating is a testament to our stringent safety protocols, training programs and operational procedures, all of which have been effectively implemented and executed by our dedicated local teams across each venue.”
Bernice Hay, Venue Manager for Canberra Olympic Pool and Stromlo Leisure Centre, praised the dedication of the ACT teams.
“I am extremely proud of our staff, who consistently prioritise safety. Their vigilance and proactive approach ensure that every visitor has a safe and enjoyable experience. This accomplishment demonstrates our commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in the industry.”
Jake Snowball, Venue Manager at Lakeside Leisure Centre, also highlighted the importance of the recognition, stating, “Achieving the Royal Life Saving 5-star rating highlights our team’s dedication to aquatic safety and continuous improvement. This milestone is a reflection of their hard work and I’m incredibly proud of their efforts to create a safe, welcoming space for our community.”
Nicole Trindofier, Venue Manager at Dickson and Gungahlin Leisure Centre said, “The hard work, attention to detail and dedication truly paid off, I’m proud of the thoroughness and professionalism of my team in demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and ensuring our patrons are safe when they visit our venues.”
